His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, affirmed that investing in the construction of museums is an investment in the future of humanity, helping build awareness among future generations and strengthening their ability to anticipate what lies ahead through a deeper understanding of the past in all its dimensions.
His Highness also noted the continued growth of the museum sector in the UAE, reflecting the increasing attention the country gives to its cultural and civilizational institutions and their role in preserving national memory and passing knowledge on to future generations.
His remarks came during a visit yesterday, Monday, to the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi in the Saadiyat Cultural District, which is the largest museum of its kind in the Middle East.

His Highness said: “We will continue to support and develop our various cultural sectors, foremost among them museums, as they are a bridge linking our heritage with our present and future… and the UAE with the world. We want our museums to remain witnesses to the journey of a nation that challenged itself to achieve accomplishments that some once thought impossible… They introduce us to the experiences of the past and all the lessons and insights they carry… Museums are a record that preserves the heritage of our ancestors for our generations and passes on to them the stories of those who came before us, guiding their steps toward a better tomorrow for us and for the world around us.”

During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was briefed on the integrated scientific and cultural experience offered by the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, which presents the story of the universe, Earth, and the evolution of life over millions of years.
His Highness also listened to an explanation of some of the museum’s most notable collections, exhibits, and interactive experiences, which use the latest technologies to provide a deeper understanding of the history of planet Earth and its natural diversity.
He was also introduced to the museum’s comprehensive presentation of the natural history of the UAE and the wider region, through scientific content that combines knowledge, discovery, and interactive experiences.
Rare Meteorites, Fossils, and Interactive Experiences
During the tour, His Highness viewed some of the most prominent exhibits at the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, including rare collections of meteorites and fossils, as well as recreated scenes depicting Abu Dhabi’s natural world.
The museum also features interactive exhibitions and educational programs that introduce visitors to the history of the universe and biodiversity on Earth, presenting scientific knowledge through a combination of visual displays and hands-on experiences.
