The 28th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2026) opens today, October 20, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the three-day event runs through October 22, bringing together 3,000 companies from 60 countries.
The exhibition is being held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
Strong International Participation at WETEX 2026
This year’s exhibition has attracted 60 sponsors and 23 partner and supporting organizations, while 13 international pavilions will feature companies and technologies from participating countries.
WETEX offers local and international businesses a chance to present their latest products and solutions, meet potential partners, and connect with major government organizations in the UAE and across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The event also provides companies with opportunities to promote their brands, explore new markets, and build relationships with investors and decision-makers working in energy, water, and sustainability.
119 Specialized Sessions Explore the Future of Energy and Technology
Alongside the exhibition, DEWA is hosting 119 seminars and panel discussions involving specialists and industry experts from around the world.
The sessions cover emerging technologies in energy, water, and environmental management, with particular attention given to the growing electricity requirements of artificial intelligence.
Experts will also discuss ways to improve the performance and reliability of utility infrastructure, along with energy solutions needed to support industrial activity, urban development, and digital growth.
Water management is another major subject. Discussions will examine smart water networks, improvements in seawater desalination, and advanced reverse osmosis technologies used to improve water extraction and manage brine discharge.
Artificial Intelligence and Green Hydrogen Take Center Stage
Several sessions will examine how new technologies can help reduce carbon emissions and improve the operation of energy networks.
Among the topics are transformer solutions for wind power, the integration of green hydrogen and biogas into natural gas networks, and technologies for connecting renewable energy sources and large electrical loads to power grids.
The program also covers the development of autonomous organizations, electrical digital twins, and stronger cybersecurity measures for utility networks as artificial intelligence becomes more widely used.
Other discussions will look at AI applications in health and safety, transparency in AI systems, ethical considerations, and regulatory compliance. Investment opportunities in sustainable cities are also part of the agenda.
Green Mobility and Electric Vehicles Receive Special Attention
WETEX 2026 will host the Dubai EV Charging Point Operators Forum under the theme “Connect. Coordinate. Accelerate.”
The forum will bring attention to the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, including ways to expand charging networks without placing additional strain on electricity grids.
Dedicated areas for green mobility, health and safety, and delegations are also part of this year’s exhibition. These spaces will help participating companies connect with one another and with government organizations from the UAE and other GCC countries.
ENOC Highlights Significant Achievements in Energy Efficiency
ENOC Group is taking part in WETEX 2026 while reporting progress in sustainability, energy efficiency, resource management, and water conservation.
According to the group, energy efficiency has improved by 21.7% since 2014, while greenhouse gas emissions intensity has fallen by 11.5%. These measures have helped ENOC avoid cumulative emissions equivalent to 1.47 million metric tons of carbon dioxide.
Its energy and resource management initiatives have also delivered cumulative savings of more than AED 478 million over the same period. The group invested over AED 156 million in these initiatives.
Renewable energy has contributed to further savings. Since 2017, its integration into ENOC’s operations has resulted in cumulative savings exceeding AED 75 million.
The group also recorded a waste recycling rate of 65.24% in 2025.
At the exhibition, ENOC is presenting the role of its investments, technologies, and resource management practices in improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions and waste. Its efforts also include greater use of renewable energy, lower freshwater consumption, increased water reuse, and resource recovery.
WETEX Strengthens Dubai’s Position as a Global Green Economy Hub
WETEX is one of the world’s largest specialized exhibitions and the largest in the region covering energy, water, green development, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainability.
The exhibition also covers decarbonization, green hydrogen, green mobility, sustainable cities, health and safety, and related sectors.
For participating businesses, it serves as a platform to introduce innovative technologies, promote new products and brands, and reach customers in markets they may not have entered before.
Companies also have the opportunity to expand their market share and strengthen their involvement in developments across the energy, water, and sustainability sectors.
