Mohammed Al Gergawi: UAE Government Aims to Be the World's Best in Services, Operations and Procedures

The UAE Government announced the launch of the Agentic AI Applications Lab for Government Services on Thursday, October 22, 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve government services and make everyday procedures easier, faster, and more efficient for customers.

Launched under the initiatives of the National Committee for Agentic AI, the lab will give ministries and government entities an opportunity to develop, test, and approve services powered by Agentic AI. Customers will also take part in the process, helping government entities understand how the services work in practice and where improvements may be needed.

Mohammed Al Gergawi: Our Goal Is to Make the UAE Government the Best in the World

His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the National Committee for Agentic AI, affirmed that the UAE continues to develop a future-oriented government model that makes use of advanced technologies to serve people and improve the efficiency of government services and operations.

His Excellency emphasized that the country’s approach focuses on providing a government experience that is simple, fast, and integrated, with services accessible to customers around the clock.

His Excellency added: “The National Agentic AI Project aims for the UAE Government to be the best in the world in its services, operations and procedures… and the Agentic AI Applications Lab for Government Services transforms this partnership into more proactive, efficient and easier-to-use services.”

Agentic AI Lab Supports Innovation Across Government Entities

The lab was launched as part of the fifth track of the National Committee for Agentic AI, which is dedicated to government services.

Its work begins with helping ministries and government entities identify the services and internal processes that should be given priority for development. Once these areas have been selected, the entities can explore suitable Agentic AI solutions and test them with customers before proceeding with wider implementation.

Customer participation is an important part of this process. The lab will help government teams observe how people interact with the proposed services, review their feedback, and identify any difficulties they encounter.

These findings can then be used to make improvements while the services are still being developed, rather than waiting until after their launch.

Faster and More Proactive Government Services Through Artificial Intelligence

Another key responsibility of the lab is to help government entities rethink how their services are designed and delivered.

Through Agentic AI, ministries and government entities will be able to explore systems that can analyze data, take actions, and complete tasks. These capabilities can support faster procedures, improve operational efficiency, and reduce the costs involved in delivering government services.

The lab also supports the development of more proactive services, with a focus on making government interactions simpler and more convenient for customers.

This involves looking at existing services and processes, identifying where AI-supported solutions can make a difference, and testing those solutions before they are introduced more widely.

Unified Standards to Ensure Service Quality Before Launch

Developing new services is only one part of the lab’s work. It will also serve as a mechanism for evaluating and approving government services enhanced by Agentic AI.

Government entities will receive support during the development, testing, and launch stages, with particular attention given to service readiness and the quality of the customer experience.

When testing identifies a problem or customers report a difficulty, the lab will help the relevant government entity address the issue before the service is launched or expanded.

This allows potential challenges to be dealt with at an early stage and gives government entities a clearer understanding of whether a service meets the required standards.

Preparing Government Employees for the Future of Artificial Intelligence

The lab’s responsibilities extend beyond the development and testing of government services. It will also help government entities strengthen the skills of their employees as Agentic AI becomes part of their work.

This includes supporting ministries and other government institutions in developing the capabilities needed to use AI-powered systems effectively and apply them to government services and operations.

Employee development forms part of the wider effort to ensure that government entities are prepared to work with these technologies and make effective use of their capabilities.

At the same time, the lab will support the development of governance frameworks for the use of Agentic AI.

UAE Government 4.0: A Future Vision That Puts People First

The launch of the Agentic AI Applications Lab for Government Services is an important part of the UAE Government 4.0 journey, which focuses on developing a government model built around data and Agentic AI.

Under this approach, technology is used to improve how government entities operate and how their services are delivered to the public.

The lab supports this direction by giving government institutions a structured way to develop AI-powered services, evaluate their performance, and make improvements based on customers’ actual experiences.

It also brings together several areas of government development, including service design, operational efficiency, quality standards, employee skills, and responsible AI use.

The focus remains on delivering government services that respond to people’s needs and contribute to improving their quality of life.
