Dubai Dates 2026 will run from July 18 to 26, returning with a new edition that builds on the progress achieved during the event’s previous two editions. This year’s program introduces additional competitions and initiatives designed to strengthen the presence of the palm tree in Emirati society and reinforce the event’s position as a national platform that brings together heritage, sustainability, and community engagement.
The event is organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center as part of a broader vision to preserve the UAE’s national heritage and maintain its presence in everyday life. It also aims to highlight the palm tree as one of the most important symbols of Emirati identity and encourage members of the community to plant and care for palm trees.
The event also seeks to connect younger generations with local heritage through specialized competitions, interactive workshops, and educational programs that introduce visitors to the history of the palm tree and its cultural, economic, and nutritional importance.
A New Competition for Home-Grown Dates
This year’s edition will introduce the “Home Date” competition, following the success of the “Home Palm Tree” category launched during the previous edition.
The new competition aims to encourage homeowners to care for palm trees grown in residential gardens and improve the quality of their produce. It also supports the continued presence of the palm tree within the family environment and preserves its connection to Emirati traditions and culture.
The competition gives families and homeowners an opportunity to present their date harvests while benefiting from agricultural expertise related to palm tree care and crop quality.
The event is also preparing to announce a new initiative, with details to be revealed by Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook, CEO of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center. The announcement reflects the center’s continued efforts to develop Dubai Dates and expand its social, cultural, and agricultural impact.
An Integrated National Platform
Since its launch, Dubai Dates has recorded steady growth in the number of participants and the variety of competitions and supporting activities. It has developed into a meeting point for farmers, farm owners, government entities, institutions, families, and people interested in the palm sector.
The event offers an integrated platform that goes beyond competition. It promotes the exchange of expertise, the transfer of knowledge, and awareness of leading agricultural practices, while also strengthening national identity by highlighting the importance of the palm tree in Emirati society.
The diversity of participants also helps expand public interest in palm cultivation and encourages both institutions and individuals to include palm trees in environmental and community initiatives.
Results That Reflect the Event’s Growth
The second edition of Dubai Dates attracted strong public interest, welcoming around 28,000 visitors over eight days.
The event also recorded more than 92 million interactions across social media platforms, reflecting its growing popularity and wider social and media presence.
Competitions introduced during the previous edition, including the “Home Palm Tree” and “Government Entities” categories, helped broaden participation and promote a culture of palm cultivation and care within homes and institutions.
Initiatives with Social and Economic Impact
The goals of Dubai Dates extend beyond organizing competitions. The event has also introduced initiatives with social, economic, and sustainability-focused objectives.
One of the most notable initiatives is the “Dates Endowment,” launched in cooperation with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Center for Endowment Consultancy. The initiative aims to support the concept of community endowment and make use of date production in projects that contribute to food security.
The previous edition also introduced the “Al Nader Cup,” which attracted palm tree owners and collectors of rare varieties while helping highlight their market and economic value.
Ahead of the competition, one participating palm tree was sold for AED 200,000, reflecting growing interest in rare varieties and the expanding economic potential of the palm sector.
Modern Technologies for the Agricultural Sector
The event continues to support farmers by providing dedicated platforms that showcase the latest technologies used in palm cultivation, including modern irrigation systems, pest control methods, and techniques for improving production quality.
Dubai Dates also highlights successful agricultural experiences, giving farmers and specialized entities an opportunity to exchange knowledge, improve working methods, and increase production efficiency.
This aspect of the event contributes to the sustainability of the UAE’s palm sector by combining inherited agricultural experience with modern farming solutions.
Family Activities and Interactive Workshops
Families attending this year’s edition will have access to a varied program of workshops and activities designed for children and parents. These activities aim to strengthen their connection to Emirati heritage.
The program includes a “Palm Cup” coloring workshop, where participants can design cups decorated with patterns and elements inspired by the palm tree. The activity highlights the tree’s symbolism and its place in national culture.
Another workshop will teach participants how to turn palm fronds into decorative plates using creative techniques inspired by traditional practices.
The workshop aims to introduce participants to the importance of reusing natural resources and demonstrate how different parts of the palm tree can be transformed into useful products, helping present sustainability in a practical and accessible way.
Knowledge-Sharing Sessions
Dubai Dates 2026 will also host educational and interactive sessions that allow visitors to learn about the history of the palm tree, its growing seasons, care methods, and its role in Emirati life.
These sessions will help raise awareness of the palm tree’s cultural and economic value while offering visitors an experience that combines knowledge, heritage, and direct engagement.
