Mohammed Al Gergawi and Mattar Al Tayer Meet Resident Who Demonstrated Civic Responsibility

Dubai’s Steering Committee for Preserving the City’s Urban Appearance praised an initiative by resident Tanweer Ahmed, who followed up on the replacement of a directional sign that needed to be renewed. His action reflected the important role community members can play in supporting Dubai’s urban appearance and maintaining the quality of its public facilities.

The meeting took place in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Chairman of the Committee, along with Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority and Vice Chairman of the Committee.

The initiative highlights how individuals can contribute to efforts aimed at preserving Dubai’s refined image and supporting the city’s overall urban experience.

Part of the UAE Community

Tanweer Ahmed said he was happy to live in the United Arab Emirates and to be part of its community, adding that the recognition he received came as a surprise.

He explained that while traveling along Sheikh Zayed Road one morning, he noticed that a directional sign for the Dubai World Trade Center area was not clean enough, making it more difficult for road users to see clearly.

He then decided to send a message to the Roads and Transport Authority, informing them that the sign needed to be cleaned or replaced.

Quick Response and Sign Replacement

Tanweer Ahmed said the authority responded to his message on the same day, and the sign was replaced and renewed the following day.

He expressed his appreciation for the quick response and the attention given to his observation, noting that he had not expected his initiative to receive such recognition.

Proud of Residents Who Care About Dubai

His Excellency Mohammed Al Gergawi said: “We would like to thank you for your observation and your attention.”

His Excellency added that Dubai is always proud of residents who care about the smallest details and who show, through their actions, their love for the city and their commitment to preserving its appearance.

The moment reflects the importance of cooperation between community members and government entities, as well as the role that simple individual initiatives can play in improving services and maintaining the urban image for which Dubai is known.
